Our latest Project....

This summer we decided to fix our front porch/yard, for those that don't know, we are living in an old family home that my great great grandparents built. Just about everything that is in our house needs to be fixed up, so Dev and I are taking this house by storm, a very slow storm, but a storm non-the-less!
This is the oldest picture I have of the front of our house, I wish you could see the very beginning, there were old dead tree stumps and other junk that we had to cleaned up. And take a close look at the porch it is UGLY!

So, we painted the porch....

We added grass, and trimmed the bushes......

And we added a front gate and finished the sidewalk

Now we still have a few things to do, we didn't get the very top of our house painted, we need to get our hands on some scafolding for that, and we need some plants in our flower gardens, but overall I just love our front yard!

Love'n the bathroom

Well, as we have been spending alot of time in the bathroom since we have been potty training for the past 3 or maybe close to 4 weeks, Asher and I noticed a leak in the faucet and it wasn't doing too good. So it got fixed...and now Ashers favorite thing to do is grab his tools and make sure everything is still tight!

Also for all of those that I call daily complaining that this (potty training) has been the hardest thing to do ever in my life, I want everyone to know that it has been a few days and no accidents for Asher! I am still expecting the occasional out of nowhere accident, however it is safe to say that my kid can pee on the potty! YEah!!!!

They can't be serious..can they?

The day after this aired, I was showing it to all of my co-workers. I thought that it was the best piece of political news I had seen since this whole Presidential race started. Now it looks like I wasn't the only one who thought that it was fetching hilarious, it has had more than 3 Million hits in one week. In case you missed it click here, sit back for a few minutes, and enjoy.

The time has come!

Individual tickets for the RSL games in the new Stadium this October have just gone on sale! Genna and I already have tickets for the Thursday October 9th game but we do not have tickets yet for the Saturday October 18th game. So we were wondering if any of you guys would like to buy seats next to us and maybe go out to dinner with us before or after the game? Even if you are not a soccer fan it would be fun to have you come, I have a few co-workers that are anything but soccer fans and they really enjoy going to the RSL games anyway. And our boys really enjoy going to the games as well (kids age three and under don't need a ticket and can sit on laps in Rice Eccles Stadium where they currently play, so I imagine it will be the same in the new stadium). So let us know within the next week or so if you can and want to go together, we need to get tickets soon because I am afraid these games are going to sell out. Let us know. Click here for more info.

Its on!

I knew sooner or later this day (or night) was coming, I just didn't expect the perpetrators to be such pansies!

As you can see by the photo's this could barley be described as a toilet paper job at all. Honestly I think Asher and Maddux could have thrown toilet paper higher into my trees!

And what is with leaving nearly full rolls of toilet paper on the lawn? Were you in some kind of hurry to get out of here? I have not seen faster runners anywhere but the Olympics!
Now I can only truly say that I positively identified one individual, but you are all suspects, even if you told me you were going to be in Idaho this weekend! Just so you guys understand, last night you started a war that you will not win. There are such things as babysitters, and I know where you guys currently live (and where you are moving to)! And yes a townhome can be toilet papered!

ITS ON!

Happy Anniversary!

Devron and I have been married for 5 years! We met because of my cousin and his brother, they were already married, and set the 2 of us up on a date. He came to the door saying Hi! I'm Elder Andersen! This was of course 2 days after he got off his mission. I like to tell everyone I know that after that date, I didn't think we would EVER date again. I was close to positive about that. But somehow or another Dev turned on his charm, and 6 months later we were married. These 5 years have been a journey. We have moved more times than I can count, from Logan Utah to Tucson Arizona and back again. I like to think that not every day is easy, but looking back we have had allot of fun! We have 2 boys that mean more to me than words can say. And I have a husband that has been there for me, right beside me everyday since I met him. Devron is my best friend, and the most honest and true person that I know. Thanks for being so amazing! Happy Anniversary!

Finally!

I have always thought that it wasn't fair for a cell phone company to massacre your credit if you don't pay an early termination fee to get out of a ridiculously long cell phone contract! Finally a Judge in California has ruled that early termination fees are illegal! Why hasn't this happened earlier?

How Lame am I

I just have to write this quick note and also say that I am now really counting down untill I can go get my breaking dawn book. I was told by my sister-in-law Keli that I could get the book at walmart.com for $4.00 dollars less than what I was going to pay on Amazon, so I got online to cancel my order and then realized that in this hast, I don't think that getting my book sometime around 4:00 pm is soon enough for myself. That is when UPS usually swings by. So I have now canceled all orders for online purchasing of the book and am going to be one of those people at midnight buying MY Breaking Dawn. Laugh at me, goodness I am sure laughing at myself.

Democrat or Republican? What other choice do I have?!?

When it comes to politics I have always tried to define myself as a Liberal Republican or a Conservative Democrat. Lets just say I have never been incredibly thrilled with the complete platform of either of the American parties.

When I spent time in Jerusalem in the summer of 2000 I was very intrigued by the number of different options that the Israeli people have when it comes to political parties. It seems like it was easier for them to find a candidate that they could truly agree with in most ways.

I have often wondered why with so many candidates running for political office, and with so many viewpoints of those candidates, why is there still an option to vote a straight ticket for one party or the other? Isn’t that exactly what George Washington warned us not to do in his farewell address in 1796? Did he not advise us to avoid excessive political party spirit?

So what is it going to be! Democrat or Republican? Can I really stand 100% with either?

If you hear what I am saying you may want to check out a political party that my friend Jeremy Manning has been talking about for years now, the Libertarians. I have seen Jeremy blog about these guys for a long time but I have never really checked them out until recently. The Libertarian Party may not be the answer to all of my political problems but the more I learn about them the more I like them. It seems to be a nice cool fresh breath of air in a very smoggy polluted world of American politics.

Water Fun!

The day was coming to an end and Devron was just setting the sprinklers for the night, when all of a sudden, Asher stole the hose and soaked both himself and Owen!

The 4th of July!

We went to Morgan and had a BBQ and went to the Semenary Lawn to see the fireworks show, this is the first time Dev and I have gone and done the traditional Andersen Family fireworks. We had lots of fun, and the kids had a blast! This was also the first time that Owen and Asher saw an official fireworks show, they both had a great time, I don't know why I was so worried about their ears.

Real Salt Lake Soccer Game!

Well we kicked off the weekend early and went to the game! It was pretty intense and I have to say that I rarely see Devron get that mad or emotional. If you follow soccer you know that it was a pretty crazy game and the refs were anything but fair. But, we got to meet Leo the Lion, Asher is going to be so jealous when he finds out!

It had been forever since we had seen Dev's brother Derek and his wife Keli, so we had a double date, and before the game went to one of my favorite places to eat, the old spaghetti factory. The picture here on the left has nothing to do with it but here we are anyway!

After the game there were fire works but I still don't know all the things I should about my camera so I don't have any good pics of those, but look at Derek and Keli, aren't they cute!

Sorry about the beef!

Thanks to everyone who came to eat over the weekend. My dutch oven skills apparently need some work, I have never roasted anything well..... soon I think we will have a BBQ and then we will have everyone over and eat burgers instead, I am good at grilling burgers.
Anyway I have to share a story about my boys tonight, they are so dang cute, and funny. I always put them down for bed at eight o'clock, and for some reason I kept hearing them giggle. I thought it was cute so I let it go on for awhile, but finally at 8:45 I went in and saw that Asher had crawled into Owens crib and the 2 of them were jumping up and down and having a great time. I have no idea how he was able to do that, but it looks like We are going to have to buy bunk beds sooner than later.
I wish I could have taken a picture. Our new camera should be in the mail and on our way to our house tomorrow! I should have done next day delivery.

Trip to Arizona!

We took a trip down to Arizona for my brothers wedding! We got to spend a few days with my dad at his home in Cave Creek, just north of phoenix, and then drove up to a little town called Greer where my Brother got married. Greer actually looked like a little place carved out of Montana. There were Log cabins, pine trees and a beautiful river. (Who knew that Arizona had something besides dirt). We got to go fishing, it was Ashers first time and it was really cute. And most importantly we got some down time, and got to hang out with the family. We played cards, cranium, and did lots of catching up. Gus, my brother was on fire, as it should be since he was the groom. He won at cards and smoked us with his cranium skills. Over all it was really fun, and the wedding was beautiful. It was simple, just family and one best friend each, the photographer was a little goofy, but the music and the company was amazing!
